OUTDOOR WATER ACTIVITIES TO ENJOY ON THE WORLD’S LONGEST DAY

As the beginning of summer approaches, so does the longest day of the year. June 21st welcomes the start of a new season by celebrating it with the more sunlight than we usually see in a 24 hour period. So, how will you spend this bright and cheery day?

If you’re on a budget, we have some outdoor activities that are perfect for creating a fun-filled day without breaking the bank. Plus, with a little savvy planning and your outdoor plumbing, you might also help your yard look healthier too!

Build a Sprinkler and Slide

As far as sprinklers go, this is one of the best ways to motivate your children to play outside when it’s warm out. Just turn them on and your kids do the rest!

You could even encourage them to turn the sprinkler system on when you’ve forgotten to water the lawn. That way, you won’t need to worry about your grass staying green this summer!

Slides are another affordable way to enjoy the summer hours. Water slides are easy to set up and they only require the garden hose to get the fun started. You and your family will be entertained for hours with a water slide as a new addition to your yard.

Set Up Hose Fights

Before sprinklers and slides, hoses were the traditional method for entertainment while outdoors. Hose fights are still a classic way to get a water war started.

What’s better than an unlimited supply of water to douse your unsuspecting victim? If you want to try something different and you have a trampoline, throw the hose on top and jump with the water.

Speaking of unlimited water supply, if you prefer to be more conservative in your water usage, water guns are another great way you can enjoy a water fight. Water guns can increase the excitement of a fight because you are limited to the amount of water you have as ammo. They’ll also give you greater range so you’ll be capable of sneak attacking your opponent before they notice!

Plan Games With Water Balloons

If you’re looking for cheap and want to conserve on water, water balloons are the way to go! Water balloon fights are a great way to get all members of the family involved too.

What better way to create a bonding experience with your loved ones than throwing balloons at each other, right? The best part is when you have teams, so one person can fill the balloons and the other can throw!

Just be careful not to fill them too much or you’ll be the one who ends up dripping wet. You can also add water balloons to nearly any game. Instead of “Catch the Egg,” try “Catch the Water Balloon.” Tag would also be so much more fun since everyone would know for sure who the next person is ‘it’.

As with most days of the summer, complimenting the longest day of the year with outdoor activities is the perfect way to greet the season. Water conservation is important to remember during this time which is why we shared these methods to help you save water and money, at Always Plumbing Heating and Air  we have your best interests in mind. Nonetheless, creating priceless memories is another goal in mind for this day, so go out there and have fun!
